It’s my first month back — and it’s really great to see you again! If you’re new here, my name is Chelsea, and I’m probably the most inconsistent blogger you will ever meet. I actually didn’t plan on coming back so soon, but I kept getting emails that said “so-and-so subscribed to your blog,” which made me realize exactly how much I missed you guys.
So, let’s just get into it.
June is going to be a busy reading month. I have a lot of goals that I’d like to accomplish by the end of summer, which include novels that I want to read for fun, but also some things that I need to read for work/university. I’ll be working through a GRE prep book during my summer break, so I’m including that in my TBR pile, which includes —
There is one new-to-me author on my list this month, which, since I spend most of my time reading books by authors I’ve liked previously, is very exciting — I’ve wanted to read Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard for a while, but I just haven’t been able to prioritize it until now. I’ve heard mixed reviews, but I’m hoping I’ll enjoy it more than most of my friends.
I’ve only read one book by Holly Black so far (The Coldest Girl in Coldtown), and I only rated it 3 stars. However, after reading the synopsis of this book, I think I’ll like The Darkest Part of the Forest.
I really should reread Passenger by Alexandra Bracken before starting Wayfarer, just because it’s been over two years since I started the series. Luckily, one of the readathons I’m planning to participate in this month has a “read a duology” challenge, so I’m planning to spend that week focusing on this series.
I’ve not heard many positive things about A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas, which upsets me because I’ve been anticipating this book since it was announced. Cross your fingers for me, though, because I’m still hoping that I love it. Before getting to this installment, I need to finish my current read-through of the series — I’m about to start A Court of Wings and Ruin.
Magic Steps will be a re-read for me, as are all books by Tamora Pierce. I’m reading through all of her books set in Emelan first, and then will be moving on to Tortall. In case you were wondering, yes, I start back at the beginning as soon as I finish. Her books will never get old.
What are some of your goals for the month? Let me know in the comments, and I’ll see you again later today for TWO more posts, both readathon-related!
